SZG
Model SZG (‘Z-ValveTM’), seal at zero hydraulic head (i.e. no reliance on a minimum pipeline pressure to achieve seal), and provide full port vacuum relief, surge protection, large air out at start-up and pressurized air release. A true Z-ValveTM will seal at 0psi and from the effects of buoyancy alone. Model SZG valves do so with the liquid level low enough in the valve so that when the valve reaches full rated pressure the fluid remains low enough within the valve to avoid fouling the seals.
The Vent-Tech Model SZG valves are high-performance, world class sewage valves. If the HGL is expected to be consistently maintained above 3-5 psi then use a Model SWG valve, otherwise we recommend specifying the SZG.
SWG
Model SWG offers industry-leading, proven sealing performance at 3 psi and above, full port vacuum relief, surge protection, large air out at start-up and pressurized air release. Model SWG combines years of manufacturing experience with advanced Patented flow designs. The Model SWG was engineered to expand and improve the technological advances of the flat float air/vacuum valve.
The Vent-Tech Model SWG valves are all-purpose sewage valves. When the existing headroom is ample and operating pressures are high, we recommend Model SWG.
SXG
Model SXG is essentially a shorter version of the SWG air/vacuum relief valve with improved flow performance and sealing characteristics. In applications where clearance height is ample, valve weight is not a factor and you require 0 psi sealing pressure, specify the “Z-ValveTM” and for 3 psi applications, use Model SWG. For greater than 1 psi applications and where height is limited, we recommend specifying Model SXG. Refer to Model SDG for 2-inch size.

SSG
Model SSG sewer valve is essentially a shorter version of the Model SWG air/vacuum relief valve, but with improved flow performance, less weight and better self-cleaning. Model SSG is available as a 1 or 2-inch valve and offers proven sealing performance at less than 3psi, full or reduced port vacuum relief, surge protection, large air out at start-up and pressurized air release. It can be configured to mate with 2 through 4-inch pipeline connection and provides superior vacuum flow performance.
The Vent-Tech Model SSG offers the best vacuum flow performance of all our 2-inch valves. In applications where clearance height is ample or valve weight is not a factor, specify the Model SWG valve, otherwise we recommend specifying the Model SSG or Model SDG.
SDG
The Model SDG Sewer Valve is essentially a shorter version of the Model SZG air/vacuum relief valve with improved flow performance, less weight and better self-cleaning. In applications where clearance height is ample, valve weight is not a factor, and you require 0 psi sealing pressure, specify the “Z-ValveTM“. For 3–5 psi applications, use Model SWG. For applications above 1 psi and where height is limited, specify the Model SDG. The Vent-Tech Model SDG is our best compact, low-pressure sealing CARV.
SKW
Model SKW was designed at the request of a customer who needed an extremely short valve (18 ¼ -inch height). Even we were reluctant. We were convinced that we were spitting in the sewer god’s eyes. 2025 will mark 5-years since these valves went into service. They have performed brilliantly and references are available. Model SKW provides controlled air release at start-up and a unique design with a single internal float.
The Model SKW Sewer Valve is our best super-compact, low pressure sealing CARV. In applications where clearance height is ample, valve weight is not a factor and you require 0 psi sealing pressure, specify the “Z-ValveTM“. For 3-5 psi applications, use Model SWG. For above 1 psi applications and where height is limited, we recommend specifying the Model SDG. In severely height restricted applications, use Model SKW, which also requires a minimum of 1 psi.
