The Vent-Tech Model SKW Sewer Valve is our best super-compact, low-pressure sealing CARV. It features a permanently biased, unique design with a single internal float. In applications where clearance height is ample, valve weight is not a factor, and 0 psi sealing pressure is required, specify the Z-Valve™.
For 3 psi applications, use the Model SWG. For 1 psi applications where height is limited, we recommend specifying the Model SDG. In severely height-restricted installations, the Model SKW is the ideal choice.

Vent-Tech Valve Series Configurations


SERIES-B Biased Combination Air Valves
Note to Engineer
Series B Valves are similar to Vent-Tech Series C Valves. Vent-Tech Series B valves are configured so that the Anti-Surge device is mechanically pre-activated. Series B Valves—CARVs fitted with a bias mechanism—are normally located:
- As the first valve after a pump and prior to the check valve.
- Immediately downstream of an inline check valve.
- Immediately following any in-line isolation valves.
- Pipeline designers should consider the use of bias valves in flat terrain e.g., if the upstream or downstream gradient approximates 1%.
Shall be four (4) function valves designed to:
- Exhaust controlled quantities of air at start-up during the filling of a pipeline system.
- Prevent the development of hydraulic transients (surge control) during start-up and pressure surges and shall operate automatically.
- Release accumulated air in a pipeline system while the system is operational and under pressure.
- Open and admit large quantities of air into the pipeline system during draining or if negative pipeline pressure occurs.
