Vent-Tech Model WZW
Designed for Zero Pressure Sealing and Maximum Efficiency
The Vent-Tech Model WZW Water Valve is a zero-pressure sealing air release and vacuum break valve, engineered for clean water systems where the hydraulic grade line does not consistently maintain pressure. With no reliance on minimum line pressure to achieve seal, the WZW offers reliable surge protection and vacuum relief in the most demanding low-pressure conditions.
Backed by over 13 years of engineering and manufacturing expertise, this valve features patent-pending flow designs and flat float technology that ensure superior durability, long-term performance, and industry-leading efficiency. Now available in sizes up to 16 inches.
- Improved air flow enhances pipeline efficiency
- Enhanced wear resistance ensures long-term durability
- Zero psi minimum sealing provides low-pressure reliability
- Durable stainless steel construction reduces maintenance needs
- Protects pipelines from collapse caused by vacuum conditions
- Maximizes pipeline capacity for optimal system performance
- Surge and column separation protection maintain system stability
- Trusted, proven design preferred by top civil engineering firms

Vent-Tech Valve Series Configurations

SERIES-C Combination Air Valves
Note to Engineer
Series C Valves are similar to Combination Air Release Valves (CARV’s) combining an Air/Vacuum Valve with an Air Release Valve. Vent-Tech series C valves provide the additional functionality of Surge Control with the inclusion of an Anti-Surge device. When the Anti-Surge device is activated, it causes the main orifice to close and forces the exhausting air through much smaller orifices which will choke the flow resulting in a pressure independent, constant ACFM volume change inside the pipeline, thus controlling water-hammer velocities.
Shall be four (4) function valves designed to:
- Exhaust large quantities of air at start-up during the filling of a pipeline system.
- Prevent the development of hydraulic transients (surge control) during start-up and pressure surges and shall operate automatically.
- Release accumulated air in a pipeline system while the system is operational and under pressure.
- Open and admit large quantities of air into the pipeline system during draining or if negative pipeline pressure occurs.

SERIES-B Biased Combination Air Valves
Note to Engineer
Series B Valves are similar to Vent-Tech Series C Valves. Vent-Tech Series B valves are configured so that the Anti-Surge device is mechanically pre-activated. Series B Valves—CARVs fitted with a bias mechanism—are normally located:
- As the first valve after a pump and prior to the check valve.
- Immediately downstream of an inline check valve.
- Immediately following any in-line isolation valves.
- Pipeline designers should consider the use of bias valves in flat terrain e.g., if the upstream or downstream gradient approximates 1%.
Shall be four (4) function valves designed to:
- Exhaust controlled quantities of air at start-up during the filling of a pipeline system.

SERIES-V Vacuum-Restrictive Air Valves:
Note to Engineer
Series V Valves are similar to traditional Air Release Valve’s (ARV’s). Vent-Tech Series V valves are configured to either restrict or eliminate air re-entry into the pipeline.
- Restrict the admittance of air back into the pipeline.

SERIES-N Vacuum Relief Valves:
Note to Engineer
Series N Valves are similar to traditional Vacuum Relief Valve’s (VRV’s). Vent-Tech series V are configured to provide maximum vacuum relief when the pipeline experience negative pressure conditions.
Shall be single (1) function valves designed to:
- Open and admit large quantities of air into the pipeline system during draining or if negative pipeline pressure occurs.

SERIES-A Deep Well Air Valves:
Note to Engineer
Series A Valves are similar to Vent-Tech Series B Valves. Like Series B Valves, they are configured so that the Anti-Surge device is mechanically pre-activated. Unlike Series B valves, Series A valves are designed to eliminate the release of accumulated air in a pipeline system while the system is operational and under pressure. Series A valves are most commonly supplied as smaller water valves for use in vertical turbine pump and deep well installations.
Shall be three (3) function valves designed to:
- Exhaust controlled quantities of air at start-up during the filling of a pipeline system.
- Prevent the development of hydraulic transients (surge control) during start-up and pressure surges and shall operate automatically.
- Open and admit large quantities of air into the pipeline system during draining or if negative pipeline pressure occurs.
